Zydus Cadila’s 3-dose needle-free coronavirus vaccine will cost Rs 1,128 to the government. “Zydus Cadila has got an order to supply 1 crore doses of ZyCoV-D to the Government of India (GoI) at Rs 265 per dose and the needle-free applicator at Rs 93 per dose, excluding GST,” the pharma company told in a regulatory filing.
According to the price break up, one dose of the vaccine will cost Rs 376, including the jet applicator and GST, taking the value of a 3-dose jab to Rs 1,128. The vaccine can be applied using a needle-free applicator called PharmaJet. The PharmaJet is a needle-free applicator to assure painless intradermal vaccine delivery, which also decreases any side effects.

ZyCoV-D is the first DNA plasmid vaccine for human use developed domestically against the Covid-19 virus, Zydus Cadila said. The company said that ZyCov-D had shown good stability at temperatures of around 25 degrees for at least three months. ZyCoV-D is the first vaccine approved by India’s drug regulator for vaccination for 12 years and above.
