Zee Music Company, a Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) unit, has renewed its licensing agreement with two digital content streaming companies, YouTube and Meta. The company said Zee Music Company had signed a three-year partnership with YouTube and a two-year partnership with Meta.
According to the company, the deal will allow both platforms to continue to offer high-quality music content from Zee Music’s catalogue of more than 11,000 songs.
As part of the deal, users will continue to use Zee Music Company’s entire catalogue to create multiple social experiences across YouTube and Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
Commenting on the deal, Anurag Bedi, Chief Business Officer of Zee Music Company, said: “Both platforms, YouTube and Meta, have proven invaluable partners for us, helping us reach new audiences and connect with our fans in innovative ways. We look forward to working together to continue delivering high-quality music content to our mutual users. We are eager to continue pushing boundaries and leveraging new revenue streams and collaborations in the growing digital music ecosystem.”
Furthermore, the new deal comes when the music industry is experiencing rapid growth in the digital space. The company believes that including the latest music library from India on both platforms is an essential step towards promoting diversity and development in the music industry.
