The country’s third largest software services exporter Wipro has elevated Rishad Premji who is the eldest son of the company’s founder Azim Premji to its Board of directors.

Rashid Premji is the chief strategy officer (CSO) and will join the Board from May 1, the company inform in a statement.

Already he is on the Board of Wipro Enterprise, the FMCG and infrastructure engineering arm, as well as Wipro-GE(joint venture between Wipro and General Electric in Healthcare). He is also on the Board of Azim Premji  Foundation.

“Rishad will continue to run strategy and mergers and acquisitions in addition to his new responsibilities overseeing the Technology office, Investor and Government Relations and Wipro Ventures”, the statement added.
