Waaree Energies on 8 November announced that it has partnered up with NTPC to supply 135 megawatts of solar photovoltaic modules that will be utilised by NTPC for a solar power project in the Baran district of Rajasthan.
Through this collaboration, NTPC aims to leverage the expertise and capabilities of the company to provide high-quality solar photovoltaic modules.
The company has to complete the order within a span of 4 months.
NTPC is a public sector undertaking (PSU) and is owned by the Government of India and is one of India’s largest power utility companies with an installed capacity of 73,824 megawatts.
Hitesh Doshi, Chairman and managing Director of Waaree Group, said that such projects provide the company with a splendid opportunity to further that objective through the provision of its state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic modules.
He added that the company is dedicated towards driving the clean energy transition in India and across the globe.
The company is one of India’s largest solar module manufacturers and has a capacity of 12 gigawatts. The company has 4 satte-on-the-art solar module manufacturing facilities and has a strong presence in 388 locations in India and 20 countries around the world.
Since its foundation, the company has supplied solar panels that are equivalent to planting approximately 360 million trees and has contributed significantly towards the reduction of 7.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
