Volkswagen has recalled 2,81,000 vehicles on account of fuel pump defect.
The US branch of embattled German carmaker Volkswagen has announced that it has been recalling 2,81,000 vehicles for fixing a faulty fuel pump in another blow to the company’s image.
The US regulators have been informed by the company that the company is recalling 2009-2016 CC luxury sedans, and 2006-2010 Passat and Passat Wagons on account of problems with the fuel pump.
The company has said in a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “Interruption of electrical power to the fuel pump control module may cause the fuel pump to fail…If the fuel pumps fails, the engine will stall, increasing the risk of a crash.”
