Vikram Solar Secures Supply Order for Solar Modules

A substantial portion of Gujarat's 1,255 MW Khavda Solar Project will be powered by the modules.

Vikram Solar announced on Friday, 17 May, that they had secured a 397.7 megawatt peak (MWp) solar module supply order for NTPC’s Khavda plant in Gujarat.

A release from the company states that NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. has awarded Vikram Solar a supply order for 397.7 MWp of modules. A substantial portion of Gujarat’s 1,255 megawatt (MW) Khavda Solar Project will be powered by the modules.

The release went on to say that the project fully conforms with the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR), indicating the company’s dedication to developing India’s domestic solar manufacturing industry.

Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director of Vikram Solar, said, “Our successful execution of numerous solar projects for NTPC has fostered a deep trust, built on a shared commitment to excellence.”

Earlier on 2 May, the company secured a 250 MW order from Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited for high-efficiency panels, which fall within the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM)

As a part of this agreement, the company will manufacture, test, and deliver high-efficiency bifacial solar photovoltaic (PV) modules having cutting-edge technology with a range of minimum module capacity of 540Wp and maximum module capacity of 570Wp.
