Vijaya Bank has posted a 13.4 percent hike in its net profit at Rs 161.66 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2016-17.
During the same period in previous year, the bank had posted a net profit of Rs 142.59 crore.
Vijaya Bank has said in a regulatory filing that the total earnings of the bank rose marginally to Rs 3,295.05 crore during the first quarter as compared to Rs 3,289.05 of year ago period.
Although, the asset quality of the bank worsened as its gross non-performing assets (NPAs) increased to 7.31 percent to the gross advances as of June, sharply up from 3.39 percent a year ago.
