VA Tech Wabag Ltd on Tuesday 15 October announced that they have been awarded a mega order worth Rs 1,000 crore from Indosol Solar Pvt Ltd. 

IN its regulatory filing, the company said, that the scope of the order includes designing, engineering, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning a 100 MLD desalination plant that has to be completed in over 38 months, and order also includes a 15 years Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contract.

The desalination plant will be built with the state-of-the-art desalination technologies and will be for the 10 gigawatt (GW) integrated solar PV manufacturing unit of Indosol Solar in Andhra Pradesh.

Saravanan Krishnan, the Head of Desalination of the India cluster at VA Tech Wabag said, “This mega order marks WABAG’s entry into the Solar PV sector which is a key segment for the future.”

Earlier on 10 October, the company secured large repeat orders from Reliance Industries Ltd for a water treatment system at its facilities in Dahej and Nagothane. The company classified these orders under the “large” classification range, which ranges from Rs 300 crore to Rs 500 crore.
