On Thursday, Aurobindo Pharma said that it has got the USFDA final approval to manufacture and market two drugs that are used in the treatment of diarrhoea and allergy.
The first, Loperamide Hydrochloride tablet is used for controlling symptoms of diarrhoea, including travelers’ diarrhoea.
According to IMS Health, the product that is approved has an estimated market size of USD 9.7 million for the 12 months ending October 2015.
The second, Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate injection is a lyophilised product that is used in treating various medical conditions such as allergic states and disorders.
An estimated market size of the approved product-USP 40 mg/vial, 500 mg/vial, and 2 g/vial- is USD 102 million for the 12 months ending October 2015 as per IMS Health.
