The US Department of State has partnered with the India Semiconductor Mission to explore opportunities for expanding the global semiconductor ecosystem using the International Technology Security and Innovation (ITSI) Fund.
This partnership aims to create a stronger, more secure, and sustainable global semiconductor value chain. The collaboration involves evaluating India’s semiconductor ecosystem, regulatory framework, and infrastructure requirements.
The ITSI Fund, established under the CHIPS Act, aims to promote secure global semiconductor supply chains and telecommunications networks. The US and India’s cooperation will ensure the global semiconductor supply chain keeps pace with digital transformation.
The partnership is expected to encompass supply chain logistics and involve key Indian stakeholders. Additionally, the CHIPS Act allocated new funding to enhance domestic semiconductor manufacturing and research in the United States and established the ITSI Fund.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the US and India to establish a semiconductor supply chain and innovation partnership to enhance its resiliency and diversification.
