On Thursday, the chair of a subcommittee handling space issues and a Republican asked the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a briefing on the inquiry into the booster failure on Monday by Blue Origin’s New Shepard-23.
It is to be noted that Jeff Bezos’ space company’s rocket failed mid-flight shortly after liftoff. It then aborted its cargo capsule to safety before crashing into the Texas desert.
Don Beyer, chairperson of the House Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics, and Representative Brian Babin, in a letter, asked the FAA to delineate the ‘timetable for the NS-23 anomaly investigation, the root cause of the failure, and plans to assure that actions to address the root cause or causes are completed.’
Founded by Jeff Bezos in 2000, Blue Origin, LLC is a privately funded aerospace manufacturer and sub-orbital spaceflight services company headquartered in Washington.
