Ukraine said it had received Starlink satellite internet terminals from SpaceX. “Starlink here. Thanks, Elon Musk,” Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, said on Twitter, days after asking SpaceX’s CEO Elon Musk for help. The terminals look like television dishes and provide high-speed internet by connecting to a fleet of satellites in low orbit.

Elon Musk said on Saturday said that Starlink is now available in Ukraine, and SpaceX is sending more terminals to the country, whose internet has been disrupted due to the Russian attack. One of the challenges to installing the terminals is that it demands a clear sky view to connect to Starlink. As buildings can block the service, one has to go to the top of the highest building nearby to set up the antenna, Tim Farrar, a consultant in satellite communications said.
