Twitter Starts Testing New Circle Feature to Share Tweets with Smaller Audiences

Twitter is testing a new feature that will allow users to tweet to a small group of followers. Twitter’s new feature is called “circles,” the Instagram equivalent of a “close friend” list. Despite the chaos surrounding Twitter and its massive acquisition by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, developers of the social media platform continue to test new features.

With this new feature, Twitter users will be able to select up to 150 people (followers and non-followers) to add to their circles. Users will be able to share specific tweets with their respective circles without sharing with the entire community outside the group. Twitter’s Circle feature is still in beta and not yet widely rolled out.

You can start by clicking the “Compose” button and selecting the “Select Audience” menu > then; you can select circles instead of everyone. Notably, members of your circles will not be able to retweet your original post. However, other members can still take screenshots or copy the text of your tweets. Additionally, users can add or remove anyone from their circles at any given time, while only their creators have access to the list of people in the circles.
