TrueCaller has signed an agreement with WE-HUB, an exclusive incubator for women-led enterprises, to promote entrepreneurship. The agreement for this was signed by WE-HUB’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Deepthi Ravula and TrueCaller’s Director of Public Affairs, Pragya Misra.
Under the agreement, TrueCaller will offer its Software Development Kit (SDK) to women-led start-ups to improve their user funnel and drive growth with mobile number verification. WE HUB executive said that the SDK is designed to assist developers in building world-class verification infrastructure. It has helped several organisations to drive and scale their businesses.
The company will also offer advertisement credits worth USD 25,000 for promoting visibility and upgrading its operations. CEO Deepthi Ravula stated that WE HUB would organise hackathons on mutually identified problem statements, and domain experts from both organisations would mentor the startups.
WE-HUB is an initiative by the Telangana state government. It is India’s first and only state-led incubator for women entrepreneurs with the primary objective of promoting and fostering women’s entrepreneurship through incubation, access to government and building a collaborative ecosystem. It was in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in 2017.
So far, WE-HUB has incubated 238 startups.
TrueCaller is an application having features like caller-identification, call-blocking, flash-messaging, call-recording etc. It was developed by True Software Scandinavia AB, a privately held company founded in Sweden in 2009. However, most of its employees are based in India.
