Tesla Recalls 80,000 Cars in China

The company has recalled 2,736 imported Model 3 cars produced between January and November 2019.

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) has placed a recall on 80,000 Chinese-made and imported cars produced as early as 2013 for seat belt and software issues. Reportedly, the US-based electric car maker has recalled 67,698 Model X and Model S cars imported to China between September 25, 2013, and November 21, 2020, due to software problems impacting the battery management system in the vehicles.

Also, the company has recalled 2,736 imported Model 3 cars produced between January and November 2019. The company has recalled 10,127 China-made cars of the same model manufactured between October 14, 2019, and September 26, 2022, due to potentially faulty seat belt installation.

In April, the carmaker recalled 127,785 units of Model 3 cars in China due to potential faults in semiconductor components which could create collisions.

On Friday, shares of TSLA are up 2.13 per cent in pre-market trading.
