Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has entered a 10-year partnership with Brazil’s Insper, committing Rs 50 million ($8.6 million) to boost innovation across South America.
TCS announced in a BSE filing that the partnership’s research goals include using satellite-based geo-sensing to improve crop yields, reducing downtime for offshore oil rigs, and utilising AI to speed up drug development. Through this partnership, TCS customers in South America will gain exclusive access to advanced research, innovation, and Insper’s academic expertise, labs, and resources.
Bruno Rocha, TCS Brazil’s country head, emphasised that the partnership aims to create a market-focused bridge, enabling more effective support for diverse companies.
The collaboration will offer customers a dedicated space to engage with Insper’s academic and engineering expertise, fostering positive business, environmental, and social impacts in Brazil.
This partnership is focused on driving innovation across various industries, including banking, financial services, insurance, energy and resources, manufacturing, healthcare, and life sciences.
Rodrigo Amantea, head of the Paulo Cunha Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub at Insper, highlighted that this collaboration aligns with Insper’s mission to lead innovation and transformation in Brazil, advancing engineering and computing projects to address real-time challenges for companies while offering new learning experiences for students.
Earlier in April, TCS opened a new delivery centre in Londrina, Paraná, Brazil, aiming to generate over 1,600 job opportunities within the next five years.
