The largest integrated power company, Tata Power has announced an increase of 5 percent in its generation capacity in 2015-16 as compared to the year ago period.
It said in a statement that the company, together with all its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, has an installed generation capacity of 9,184 mw as of May 2016 as against 8,750 mw in the year ago period from various fuel source such as thermal, hydroelectric power, renewable energy and waste heat recovery.
In 2015-16, the consolidated generation through all its subsidiaries stands at 47,016 million units (MU) in 2015-16. In FY 16, the standalone generation stood at 12,075 MU.
