Tata Power and Juniper Green Sign a PPA for 85 MW Hybrid Project

The Memorandum of Understanding also seeks to make it easier to finance capital projects.

Tata Power announced on 23 April that it has signed an agreement with Juniper Green Energy to develop an 85-megawatt hybrid power project in Maharashtra.

“The project is the first wind-solar energy project for the company. It will utilise both wind and solar resources by combining 51 MW of wind energy and 34 MW of solar power,” Juniper Green Energy said in a statement.

According to the firm, building an 85 MW hybrid power project in Maharashtra is the subject of the company’s power purchase agreement (PPA).

The project is anticipated to electrify roughly 42,753 households and produce 215 million units (MUs) of energy annually. Independent producer of renewable energy, Juniper Green Energy manages wind, solar, and hybrid power plants.

Furthermore, Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has partnered with India Bank to strengthen the adoption of solar rooftops among residential consumers.

The collaboration aims to facilitate financing solutions for installing up to 3 kilowatts under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana scheme.
