The GIFT Nifty futures were trading in the green before the market’s opening on Wednesday. Domestic Indices are expected to open on a similar positive note.
Stock exchanges were closed on Tuesday, October 24, on account of Dussehra. Domestic equity indices, NSE Nifty 50 and S&P BSE Sensex ended lower on Monday, continuing their losing streak for the fourth straight session. Sensex tanked 1.26% or 825 points to settle at 64,571.88, while the Nifty shed 260 points or 1.34% at 19,281.75 points.

JSW Steel: The Sajjan Jindal-led company has spent nearly Rs 8,000 crore of the total Rs 20,000 crore capital expenditure earmarked for the financial year 2023-24 and is planning to spend the rest Rs 12,000 crore for capacity addition of 8.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). After getting commissioned, this capacity addition will generate funds for its planned capacity addition of 50 MTPA by FY30.
Lupin: The pharma major has received approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) to market its new generic equivalent of Diflucan Tablets, Fluconazole, used in the treatment of fungal infections. This product will be manufactured at Lupin’s Pithampur facility.
Tech Mahindra: The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Tech Mahindra Americas Inc., on October 23, approved a proposal to divest a 30% stake in Avion Networks Inc. for a total consideration of $50,000 or approximately Rs 41,00,000. The acquisition will be completed before October 31, 2023.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC): ONGC has won the bid to acquire a 100% equity stake in PTC India Ltd’s wind power wholly-owned subsidiary, PTC Energy (PEL), valued at Rs 925 crore.
Vedanta: Former Byju’s chief financial officer (CFO) Ajay Goel is to return as Vedanta’s CFO effective October 30 after Sonal Shrivastava resigned, making her the third incumbent to quit in as many as five years from the post in the billionaire Anil Agarwal-controlled company.
