Stocks in Focus: Ola Electric, Larsen and Toubro, Exide Industries, and Others

The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, was trading 0.11% lower by 27 points at 24,690 indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a muted start on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, 20 August, Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex gained 378.18 points or 0.47%, to end at 80,802.86, while the Nifty50 traded 126.20 points or 0.51% higher and settled at 24,698.85.

Here are some stocks that are likely to remain in focus on 21 August.

Larsen and Toubro: The Bombay High Court has overturned a show-cause notice that was issued by the Principal Commissioner of GST and Service Tax, Mumbai worth Rs 2,237 crore. 

Ola Electric: The company’s S1 X 3 kWh and S1 X 4 kWh scooters have secured certification for compliance with the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme requirements for the automobile and auto components industry. 

Exide Industries: The company has announced plans to invest Rs 75 crore in its subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions, on a rights basis, and take its total investment in its subsidiary to Rs 2,652.24 crore.

Genus Power: The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary has received 3 LoA worth Rs 3,608.52 crore for the appointment of advanced metering infrastructure service providers (AMISPs). 

Cyient DLM: Promoter of the company, Cyient has announced its plans to sell 1.15 crore equity shares, representing a 14.5% stake in the company via a block deal and taking the total deal value at Rs 860.9 crore. 

Petronet LNG: The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LTL Holdings, Sri Lanka, to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to LTL’s dual-fuelled power plants located in Kerawalapitiya, Colombo.

Vodafone Idea: In June 2024, the company lost 8.60 lakh subscribers, which is an improvement from the 9.20 lakh subscribers lost during May 2024. As of June 2024, the company holds a 18.56% market share. 

Bharti Airtel: In June 2024, the company added 12.52 lakh subscribers, which is higher than 12.50 lakh users in May 2024. As of June 2024, the company holds a 33.23% market share. 

Reliance Industries: The company added 19.11 lakh users in June 2024, which is a marginal decrease from 21.95 lakh users added in May 2024. As of 30 June 2024, the company held a commanding market share of 40.71%.
