Stocks in Focus: NTPC, JSW Infrastructure, Ola Electric, and Others

The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, was trading 0.35% lower by 83 points at 23,921, indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a negative start on Friday. 

On Thursday, 19 December, Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex crashed 964 points or 1.20% to end at 79,218 while the Nifty50 traded 247 points lower or 1.02% and settled at 23,952.

Here are some stocks that are likely to remain in focus on 20 December.

NTPC: The company has announced its plans to set up a nuclear project in Bihar with the aim of increasing its non-fossil energy portfolio. The company has also requested the state government for a land parcel with a suitable location to commence its plans. 

JSW Infrastructure: The company has announced a total capital expenditure plan of Rs 30,000 crore to increase its cargo-handling capacity to 400 million tonnes per annum by the fiscal year 2030. 

Ola Electric: The company will expand its sales and services network to around 4,000 outlets on 25 December, with over 3,200 new stores completing its existing footprint. 

Bharti Airtel: The company has made a prepayment of Rs 3,626 crore to the Department of Telecom, thereby fully clearing its liabilities for the spectrum it had acquired during the 2016 auction. 

Indian Oil Corporation: The company is looking to invest Rs 21,000 crore towards expanding the Barauni refinery in Bihar, along with setting up a city gas distribution network across the state of Bihar. 

Reliance Industries: The company has resumed its oil saw with Venezuela’s state oil company PDVSA, which was previously halted due to U.S. sanctions on South American countries. 

Exide Industries: The subsidiary of the company, Exide Energy Solutions, has signed a binding agreement with Hyundai Motor India to supply lithium-ion cells and battery packs for Hyundai’s EVs in India. 

JK Cement: The company has won a bid for the Mahan coal mine in Madhya Pradesh, which has geological coal reserves of around 107.4 million tonnes and a peak-rated capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per annum. 

KPI Green Energy: The company has announced setting 3 January as the record date for its bonus issue of 1:2. Moreover, the company has also announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government for developing hybrid solar and wind power projects in Jaisalmer.
