The GIFT Nifty futures were trading in the green before the market’s opening on Monday. Indices are expected to open on a similar positive note.
Domestic benchmark indices, NSE Nifty 50 and S&P BSE Sensex, settled higher on Friday, hitting fresh peaks, driven by better-than-expected December quarterly results by IT giants. Nifty ended 247.35 points or 1.14% higher at a fresh closing peak of 21,894.55, while Sensex gained 1.18 per cent or 847.27 points to settle at 72,568.45.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL): The central public sector company has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from NLC India for an EPC package worth over Rs 15,000 crore for the 3×800 MW Talabira Thermal Power Project (NTTPP).
Alkem Laboratories: The pharmaceutical company reported a cybersecurity incident at its subsidiary wherein some employees’ official email addresses were compromised, resulting in fraudulent fund transfers of approximately Rs 52 crore. Alkem Labs also appointed Nitin Agrawal as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective February 1.
Sheela Foam: The PU Foam manufacturing company has completed the acquisition of a 2.57% stake in Kurlon Enterprises for a consideration of Rs 55.33 crore, bringing its total holding in the company’s share capital to 97.23%.
Tata Consumer Products: The FMCG company announced its acquisition of a 100% stake in Fabindia-backed Organic India and Capital Foods, the owner of popular brands Ching’s Secret and Smith & Jones, for Rs 1,900 crore and Rs 5,100 crore, respectively.
Goodluck India: The steel pipes, sections, soils, sheets and tubes manufacturer has opened its Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) at Rs 989.40 per share to raise up to Rs 200 crore.
Avalon Technologies: The electronics manufacturing service (EMS) provider has entered into an agreement with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) for the indigenously manufactured HPC servers, ‘RUDRA.’
