On Thursday, carmaker Stellantis said it had agreed to buy aiMotive, a Hungary-based developer of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous driving software, to advance its technology development efforts. However, the financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The company said that the acquisition would enhance its AI and autonomous driving core technology, expand its global talent pool, and boost the mid-term development of its all-new STLA AutoDrive platform.
The said deal also supports Stellantis’ aim to generate around 20 billion euros (USD 20.75 billion) in additional annual revenues by 2030 from software-enabled product offerings and subscriptions.
