In February, the steel imports of India has declined for a fourth straight month.
In September 2015, the government had imposed a 20 percent safeguard import duty for 200 days on some steel products and last month set a floor price on imports to deter countries such as China from undercutting local mills.
According to the data from Joint Plant Committee of the steel ministry data, during lats month, India which is the third largest steel producer in the world has shipped in 912,000 tonnes of the alloy which is 7.3 percent lower than the corresponding month of last year.
