Skyroot Aerospace has raised $4.5 million in a Series B funding round led by Google’s founding board member Ram Shriram’s Sherpalo Ventures, the company said in a statement. The funding round also saw participation from Wami Capital, WhatsApp chief business officer Neeraj Arora and ex-Google executive Amit Singhal. Skyroot will use the funds to build the infrastructure needed to launch space vehicles.

Skyroot has the technical power with its innovative and cost-effective space launch capability, disrupting the status quo in the global launch market,” Skyroot co-founder and CEO Pawan Kumar Chandana said in a statement.
