Singapore-based telecommunications company Singtel is in talks with Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Mittal to sell his 2-4% stake in the company.
By market value, Singtel would be able to generate nearly Rs 750 crore by selling its 2% stake.
“Discussions are ongoing between Singtel and Mr Mittal. Singtel wants to sell a 2-4% stake in Bharti Airtel to Mr Mittal,” PTI reported.
Singtel’s effective stake in Bharti Airtel is 31.7%. It holds a 49.44% stake in Bharti Telecom, a company owned by the Mittal family. Bharti Telecom holds a 35.85% stake in Bharti Airtel.
