Shemaroo has partnered with Amagi, global leader in cloud-based SaaS technology for broadcast and connected TV, for creating, distributing, and monetising a new channel to the free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) platform, Plex, in the US. The channel, which hosts a systematised collection of movies and music from Bollywood, has targeted a global audience over the years.
Plex becomes the first FAST platform to which the channel is distributed. With this, Shemaroo attempts to extend its reach to other leading FAST platforms including SLING, Xiaomi, and more. This partnership is likely to reinforce Shemaroo’s presence in the US.
Shemaroo has a global presence and it is believed to have played a pioneering role in the area of content ownership, aggregation, and distribution. As there is a growing demand for free ad-supported streaming channels, Shemaroo realises that its content is also available on this platform for consumers. Amagi will generate high visibility and ad-based revenue streams for Shemaroo’s content.
With this partnership, Shemaroo is likely to gain the full advantage of Amagi’s cloud technology services which, inter alia, include the broadcast-grade channel playout solution, Amagi CLOUDPORT, and the advanced dynamic server-side ad insertion solution, Amagi THUNDERSTORM.
