Jindal Steel & Power Ltd fell 3.11% to close at Rs 591.1 today. The S&P BSE Metals Index fell 0.95% to 21,266.9. The index is up 4.03% over December 2022. Among the other index constituents, Steel Authority of India Ltd lost 1.24% while JSW Steel Ltd decreased by 1.68%. The S&P BSE Metal index went up 4.53 % in 2022 compared to the 1.36% fall in the benchmark Sensex.
JSPL has added 8.94% over December 2022 compared to a 4.03% gain in the S&P BSE Metal index and a 1.54% drop in the Sensex. On the BSE, 30484 shares were traded compared to daily average volumes of 1.31 lakh on December 22. On January 12, 2023, the stock hit a record high of Rs 612.75, whereas the stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 304.2 on June 22, 2022.
