The State Bank of India has announced its entry into Myanmar through opening a branch in the capital city of Yangon. It has become the first domestic lender to do so.
Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson of the bank has said in a statement that the Yangon branch has been the 54th foreign branch of the nation’s largest lender.
She has said that this branch extends the global presence of SBI in 37 countries through 198 offices.
