On Thursday a special CBI court has sentenced Satyam Computer Services’ founder Ramalinga Raju seven years of imprisonment after he was found guilty in the multi crore scam.
The court has also hit a penalty of Rs 5 crore each on Raju and his younger brother Rama Raju and a penalty of Rs 25 lakh each on eight other accused.
Earlier in the day in this scam, the court had pronounced Raju, his brother Rama Raju and eight others guilty.
The scam had come to light on 7th January,2009 when Raju allegedly confessed to manipulating his company’s account books and inflating company’s profit over many years.
