RP Sanjiv Goenka Group (RPSG) has acquired a 51% stake in Editorji, an artificial intelligence (AI) powered information app. RPSG has also acquired the rights to publish business magazine Fortune in India. Vikram Chandra, news anchor and Chief Executive Officer of NDTV Ltd. had launched, Editorji Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in 2018, which is valued at an estimated price of $10 million. Early investors including Mint publisher HT Media Ltd. holding of 5% and Bharti Airtel Ltd. with an 8 per cent stake in the company. Editorji had also organised new playlists which is available for Airtel mobile subscribers.
Vikram Chandra commenting on the deal said, “We built the back-end technology and we needed scale. We have finally found a home in RPSG.” Goela said, “This is something I thought would be a good fit for this age. We have plans to grow it significantly but we do believe it is a very good place to start”.
