Shares of Route Mobile Ltd skyrocketed 11% on Thursday, 6 March, after the company announced that it would cooperate with Nokia and Proximus Global to offer network Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to help developers create enterprise apps.
In its regulatory filing, the company said, “Proximus Global, the leading global digital communications company combining the strengths of BICS, Telesign, and Route Mobile, today announced that it will partner with Nokia to explore opportunities that utilize their respective strengths in network API solutions to support developers as they create new applications for enterprises.”
Proximus Global and Nokia have decided to share their APIs on each other’s marketplaces in an effort to close the gap between the telecom ecosystem and the various industry segments.
Although Proximus Global’s network APIs will be accessible on Nokia’s Network as a Code platform, which also features a developer portal, Nokia will gain from Proximus Global’s reputation in the telecom industry by having access to its CAMARA and 5G APIs.
Proximus Global will also look to utilize Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform and its Enterprise API Hub to give developers easy access to Proximus Global’s network capabilities for creating software applications that work across its 4G and 5G networks.
Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform implements the GSMA Operator Platform, a definition for a single platform that makes operator capabilities available to developers.
Proximus Global combines the strengths of Telesign, BICS, and Route Mobile to develop solutions that support the growth of communities and businesses, from 5G and IoT to CPaaS for personalized omnichannel engagement, from verification and intelligence to super networks for voice, messaging, and data.
At 12:49 pm, the shares of Route Mobile were trading 4.98% higher at Rs 1,051 on NSE.
