Raymond has started first linen manufacturing plant at Amravati, Maharashtra worth Rs.250 crore. This new greenfield linen manufacturing facility is under the company’s subsidiary Raymond Luxury Cottons Ltd.
This plant is expected to produce 1,200 tonnes of linen yarns and 4.8 million meters of linen and blended fabrics per annum. It will also provide direct and indirect employment to approx 800 people.
Further Gautam Hari Singhania, Raymond Chairman and Managing Director stated that, there will be a total investment of Rs.1,400 crore in the phased manner, out of which an initial investment of Rs.250 crore for the first phase has been done.
