Power Grid Corporation of India announced on Tuesday the acquisition of two transmission projects in Gujarat.
The company has acquired special purpose vehicles (SPVs) Jam Khambhaliya Transmission Ltd (JKTL) and South Olpad Transmission Ltd (SOTL) through a tariff-based competitive bidding process from PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL).
JKTL will enhance the transformation capacity at the Jam Khambhaliya power station on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis, while SOTL was acquired for the evacuation of power from a proposed renewable energy zone in Gujarat’s Khavda region under Phase-IV.
Both projects are located in Gujarat and aim to strengthen the power infrastructure in the region.
Earlier on 24 September, the company emerged as the successful bidder for establishing an inter-state transmission system in Khavda village of Gujarat.
The scope of the project involves installing of STATCOMs at Khavda Pooling Station 1 and Khavda Pooling Station 3 along with associated bays extension work and will be constructed out on a BOOT basis.
