PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate development projects of Rs 9,600 crore in Gorakhpur. The projects include a fertiliser plant of Hindustan Urvarak Rasayan Limited (HURL), AIIMS Gorakhpur hospital and a hi-tech lab at Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) in BRD Medical College. On November 16, he inaugurated the 341-km long Purvanchal Expressway at Karwal Kheri in Sultanpur district. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the event would be a grand one as PM Modi’s government has been supportive of the growth of Uttar Pradesh.
The Gorakhpur fertiliser plant will produce 12.7 lakh metric tons of neem-coated urea per year, according to a statement by Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The project will not only bring good fortune to farmers but also create 20K direct and indirect employment opportunities for youths. “The Gorakhpur Plant will create 12.7 LMT per annum indigenous neem coated urea. It will benefit the farmers of the Purvanchal region and neighbouring areas by meeting their need for urea fertiliser. It will also boost the overall economic growth of the district,” the statement said.

“The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the new building of ICMR-RMRC. The building can tackle the challenge of Japanese encephalitis /Acute Encephalitis Syndrome. The facilities at the AIIMS will include a 750-bed hospital, Medical college, Nursing college, AYUSH Building, residential accommodation for all staff, and a hostel for UG and PG students,” the statement added.
