PM Modi to Launch Projects Worth Rs 21K Crore in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat from June 17-18, unveiling and laying the foundation for Rs 21,000 crore development.


The Prime Minister will unveil the reconstructed Shree Kalika Mata Temple on Mount Pavagadh at around 9.15 am on June 18, followed by a visit to Virasat Van at around 11.30 am. Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).


He will then appear at Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan in Vadodara at around 12.30 pm, unveiling and laying the foundation stone for a project worth over Rs 21,000 crore.

The beneficiaries of various government schemes will attend Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan in Vadodara. PM will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for various railway projects worth over Rs 16,000 crore. These include the state’s commitment to the new 357 km Palampur – Madar section of the dedicated freight corridor, gauge conversion of the 166 km Ahmedabad-Botad section, and electrification of the 81 km Palampur-Mitha section. PM will also lay the foundation for the redevelopment of Surat, Udhna, Somnath and Sabarmati stations, as well as other initiatives in the railway sector.


Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Prime Minister will consecrate 1.38 lakh houses, including urban houses worth about Rs 1,800 crore and rural houses worth over Rs 1,530 crore. In addition, Khat Muhurat of about 3,000 houses worth more than Rs 310 crore will also be completed.


During the programme, PM will lay the foundation for various development works worth over Rs 680 crore in Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Panchmahal.


PM will also lay the foundation for Gujarat Central University in Kundhela Village, Dabhoi taluka, Gujarat. The University has located about 20 km from Vadodara and will cost around Rs 425 crore to build and will cater to the higher education needs of more than 2,500 students.


He will focus on improving the health of mothers and babies, launching “Mukhyamantri Matrushakti Yojana” for Rs 800 crore. Under the scheme, Anganwadi Centre will provide pregnant and breastfeeding mothers with 2 kg of chickpeas, 1 kg of tur dal and 1 kg of cooking oil per month free of charge.


PM will also pay around Rs 120 crore to “Poshan Sudha Yojana”, which has now been extended to all tribal beneficiaries in the state.


Modi will also inaugurate the redeveloped Shree Kalika Mata Temple on Parvagadh Hill. It is one of the oldest temples in the area and attracts many pilgrims. The reconstruction of the temple was completed in two phases. PM completed the launch of the first phase of the redevelopment project in early April this year.


PM laid the foundation stone for the second phase of the redevelopment in 2017, where the project will start. This includes expanding the temple base and the three-story “parisar”, and installing street lights, CCTV systems and other amenities.
