Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the “Har Ghar Jal Utsav” event in Panaji on Friday morning. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant would attend the event.

The event will take place at the Institute Menezes Braganza at 10.30 am. Ahead of the scheduled speech, PM Narendra Modi called on passionate people about water conservation and the environment to join the scheme.

“This is a special day for Goa and our efforts to protect Har Ghar Jal. My remarks will be shared via video conference at 10.30 am. All those passionate about water conservation and the environment will be urged to join the programme,” the prime minister tweeted on Friday morning. Goa is the first state in the country to achieve 100% piped water supply in rural areas, CMO said.

“State Public Works Department is the executive agency of the Goa plan,” it said. The CMO said Shekhawat would open the event in the presence of the Minister of State for Public Works Nilesh Cabral and CM Sawant.
