Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal asked industry bodies to prepay Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) to protect their viability and boost employment and growth. Goyal was interacting with the leaders of major industry bodies virtually from New Delhi. The meeting was called to take suggestions and inputs about economic activities and high growth rates.
“Indian professionals have achieved great success in working from home, and therefore the nation could complete its international commitments, even during the pandemic, it earned the title of being a trusted partner to the world,” he said. The minister also said that there is a need for the up-gradation of testing facilities and labs to improve quality and requested the industry to extend its support in this regard.
He urged the industry to use a single window for business processes to the maximum extent possible. He asked them to give suggestions and inputs for further continuing rules and reducing compliance burdens. He asked the industry to invest more and place greater emphasis on Research and Development activities as a business and growth strategy.
