PhonePe’s Indus Appstore has launched an AI-powered voice search feature for ten Indian languages, in addition to English. With this feature, users can search for apps in their preferred language, using voice search.
This feature is powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, ensuring accuracy and precision in understanding diverse accents and speech patterns, and offering relevant search results.
As per a joint report by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and Kantar, 57% of Indian users prefer internet usage via vernacular language.
Indus Appstore is available in English and 12 Indian languages, which allows users to explore the app store in their preferred language.
Indus Appstore’s voice search technology elevates the user experience by allowing users to freely express themselves in their local language with just a tap of the voice search button.
Indus Appstore’s mission is to empower users with inclusive and accessible features, catering to varying levels of literacy and linguistic preferences.
The app store is designed to fulfil the localised and cultural needs of Indian consumers, with an extensive array of categories that provide users with a localized, contextual, and personalized experience.
For developers, the Indian App Store provides a fair and level playing field to list, distribute, and promote their products in the Indian app ecosystem. It provides a self-publishing platform, localisation services, multiple tools to monitor and grow their apps, and dedicated 24×7 customer support.
