On Tuesday, PGCIL rose 2.26 per cent to trade at Rs 205.8. The S&P BSE utility index is up 1.17 per cent to quote at 3991.16. The index is down 4.77 per cent over August month. Other stocks RIL has increased 2.08 per cent, and JSW Energy Ltd added 2.04 per cent. The S&P BSE utility index went up 45.03 per cent in 2021 compared to the 4.43 per cent fall in benchmark SENSEX.

On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), 80861 shares were traded as compared with daily average volumes of 8.91 lakh in August. The stock of PGCIL hit a record high of Rs 248.25 on 10 May 2022, and on 27 September 2021, the stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 175.1.
