Passenger train services between India and Bangladesh will resume from May 29, the official order said. As a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, train services between Kolkata and Bangladeshi cities were suspended in March 2020.
The Railway Authority has issued an order to resume Kolkata-Dhaka Maitree Express from Dhaka via Bangladesh Railway and Kolkata-Khulna Bandhan Express from Kolkata via Indian Railway on 29 May 2022.

The service of NJP-Dhaka Mitali Express will start from Rail Bhawan on June 1 after the display of the virtual flag of Mitali Express by the Railway Ministers of India and Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s railway minister is expected to be in India during this period.
