Nvidia has introduced its latest RTX 50-series GPUs, boasting nearly double the performance of their predecessors.
The announcement was made by Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 7, 2025. These GPUs, offering significant advancements in performance, efficiency, and innovation, are expected to be highly sought after, particularly among PC gamers, according to a report by HT Tech.
The RTX 50-series features a sleek redesign of Nvidia’s Founders Edition and includes several technical upgrades. Nvidia claims that the flagship RTX 5090 delivers twice the performance of the RTX 4090, while its compact size makes it ideal for smaller PC cases.
Powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture and the latest DLSS 4 technology, the RTX 5090 comes equipped with 32GB of GDDR7 memory, 21,760 CUDA cores, and a bandwidth of 1,792GB/sec.
Meanwhile, the RTX 5080 includes 16GB of GDDR7 memory, 10,752 CUDA cores, and a bandwidth of 960GB/sec, offering twice the speed of the RTX 4080.
The RTX 5070 Ti is fitted with 16GB of GDDR7 memory, 8,960 CUDA cores, and a bandwidth of 896GB/sec, while the RTX 5070 has 12GB of GDDR7 memory, 6,144 CUDA cores, and a bandwidth of 672GB/sec.
Nvidia also announced an RTX 50-series lineup for laptops, set to launch in March 2025, featuring up to 24GB of GDDR7 memory.
