Nvidia CEO Aims for Growth in India Through New Partnerships

The firm will also work with Indian healthcare firms to boost patient care and research productivity.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is forming partnerships with major Indian companies, including Reliance Industries Ltd. and Infosys Ltd., highlighting the significance of India to the AI pioneer’s future.

Nvidia, hosting an AI summit in Mumbai, is showcasing how Indian partners across various industries are utilising its AI technology to enhance their products and services.

CEO Jensen Huang is scheduled to discuss AI’s potential in India with Mukesh Ambani, a prominent figure in retail and refining, at the event on Thursday.

India is emerging as a significant AI market, with its 1.4 billion people adopting the technology in sectors like agriculture, education, and manufacturing to improve efficiency.

Although still a small part of revenue, global tech companies like Nvidia, Microsoft, and Meta are investing in India’s rapidly growing economy as a key growth market and operational base.

Nvidia plans to assist India’s Tech Mahindra Ltd. in developing a large Hindi language model and collaborate with Flipkart to enhance its conversational customer service systems.

They will also work with Indian healthcare firms to boost patient care and research productivity.

Nvidia has become a leader in the global AI boom, supplying chips to major tech companies like Microsoft and Google for AI development.

CEO Jensen Huang has been promoting AI adoption worldwide, referring to it as a “new industrial revolution.”

India has gained importance for global tech companies due to rising tensions between the US and China, with Nvidia experiencing curtailed business in China because of Washington’s restrictions.

After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the US last month, CEO Jensen Huang referred to it as “India’s moment.”

Although India has a growing digital economy, its AI infrastructure is still developing.

The Indian government has allocated $1.2 billion under the IndiaAI Mission to establish data centres for building AI systems and commercialising technologies.
