Today Google has announced a new jobs platform for users in India. Unlike the job results, the company currently shows on Search, this one works within the Google Pay app and is meant for entry-level jobs. It’s aimed at users like food delivery personnel, retail sector executives and more.
Meanwhile, the company has partnered with brands such as 24Seven in the retail space, Swiggy and Dunzo in the on-demand delivery space, Fab Hotels in the hospitality space and more. Google says it has 25 partners right now but Caesar Sengupta, General Manager, Payments and Vice President, Next Billion Users at Google confirmed that the company will be opening the platform in future so that anyone can post jobs on the platform.
Currently, jobs are available only in Delhi/NCR but will be rolled out nationwide soon. In February 2019, the first service was started as a standalone app in Bangladesh in September last year.
