Nissan Motor India has announced that it will hike prices of its cars selling in India by up to 5 per cent across all the models, including both Nissan and Datsun from next month to offset increased costs.
Recently, the company had entered into the sub-compact SUV segment with the Nissan Magnite, launched at introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh. It had claimed that the prices of Magnite variants will be revised from January next year and the entry price will be revised to Rs 5.54 lakh for the base variant.
The newly launched Nissan Magnite comes with both the manual and automatic transmissions. It will be competing with models of business rivals Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Honda WR-V. The competing models are priced at much higher rate than Magnite which will give Nissan a competitive edge over rivals.
Nissan Motor India sells a range of mass market vehicles under the Datsun and Nissan brands, including Datsun Redi-Go, Datsun Go, Datsun Go Plus, Nissan Micra, Nissan Sunny, Nissan Kicks, and Nissan Terrano. Currently, the auto manufacturer sells Nissan Kicks in the compact SUV segment and Nissan GT-R in the sports car segment and the new prices will be applicable on both the offerings.
