India’s benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened flat after closing lower on Wednesday. Nifty opened below the 18,000 level. The Sensex opened 0.04% lower at 60,328, and the Bank Nifty opened 25 points lower at 42,584.
All indices in the broader market opened in the red, with the Nifty Smallcap 100 down 0.23%. Sector-wise, Nifty IT, Nifty Media and Nifty PSU Bank cut rates at the open, but on the other hand, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Metal and Nifty Pharma rose, with the FMCG index up 0.2%. Reliance and ITC led the gains in the Sensex-30.
NSE Nifty and BSE Sensex started to flat yesterday after closing in the red. The Nifty fell 5 points to 17,987, while the Sensex lost 0.04% to 60,328. The Bank Nifty also got off to a lacklustre start, dropping 25 points to 42,584.
Domestic indices NSE Nifty and BSE Sensex edged higher ahead of the open. The Nifty gained 8 points to recover 18,000 points, while the Sensex closed 35 points at 60,388.
