Around 11:00 am on Friday; the Nifty IT index rose in an upbeat market.

HCL Technologies (+0.55%), Infosys (+0.45%), L&T Technology (+0.44%), Mindtree (+0.39%) and Tata Consultancy (+0.32%) were the top gainers.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 0.07%) was the index’s biggest loser. At the time of writing, the Nifty IT index was up 0.3% at 28,186.6.

The benchmark NSE Nifty50 index rose 98.45 points to 17,897.2, while the BSE Sensex gained 299.58 points to 59,987.8.

Of the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 trade in green and seven in red.

Shares of YES Bank (NSE -1.97%), Reliance Power (NSE -9.86%), Suzlon Energy (NSE -4.93%), Vodafone Idea (NSE 0.00%), and Zomato Ltd were the most traded stocks on the NSE.

Euro India Fresh (NSE 16.92%), BSL Ltd (NSE 10.90%), DP Wires (NSE 9.38%), Mohini Health & Hygi and Total Transport Sys hit 52-week highs today, while Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd, JFL Life Sciences Ltd, GRM Overseas (NSE -3.72%) were trading lower in 52-weeks.
