In the morning trade, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was down 68.69 points or 0.11 per cent to 61,912.03. The Nifty 50 index lost 33.95 points or 0.18 per cent to 18,375.70.
In the domestic market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index declined 0.30 per cent while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index shed 0.20 per cent. On the BSE, 1,462 shares hit a high, 1,686 shares went down, and 150 shares remained unchanged.
In the domestic market, the net buyer of Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) of Rs worth Rs 386.06 crore, and Rs 1,437.40 crore, respectively, on 16 November 2022.
The Nifty Metal index went down by 1.26 per cent to 6,380.15 and dropped 3.18 per cent.
Hindustan Copper is down 4.75 per cent, Hindalco Industries is down 1.83 per cent, National Aluminium Company is down 1.9 per cent, Vedanta is down 1.63 per cent, Steel Authority of India is down 1.39 per cent, MOIL down 0.64 per cent, Jindal Steel & Power down 0.54 per cent, JSW Steel down 0.81 per cent, Tata Steel down 1.45 per cent, MOIL down 0.64 per cent, Adani Enterprises down 0.71 per cent.

Tata Motors went down by 1.91 per cent after Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) chief executive officer (CEO) Thierry Bollorresigned due to personal reasons on 31 December 2022. On 17 November 2022, Interim CEO Adrian Mardell took over. Mardell has been part of JLR for 32 years and a Board executive member of the board for three years.
