The Yes Bank has finally found a successor to the bank promoter Rana Kapoor as the bank has announced the appointment of Ravneet Gill as the MD & CEO of Yes Bank for a period of 3 years from the date of joining. The bank also declared that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the appointment and Gill is expected to join the bank by March 1, 2019.
Rana Kapoor the outgoing MD & CEO of Yes Bank said, “I am extremely pleased to welcome Ravneet Gill as the new MD & CEO of YES BANK…I have had the opportunity to have known and briefly interacted with Ravneet Gill professionally over the years, and have admired his exceptional professionalism and outstanding leadership style. ”
According to the bank’s statement, Ravneet Gill has more than 3 decades of experience with the last 25+ years with Deutsche Bank AG, which is the 11th largest bank in the World. Ravneet, who is at present the CEO of the Deutsche Bank, was also a Member, Management Committee of Indian Banks Association (IBA) from 2012 – 2018 and holds a Masters in Political Science from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
The Yes Bank also announced the appointment of Mr Maheswar Sahu and Mr Anil Jaggia as Independent Directors on the Board of YES BANK with effect from January 24, 2019, for a period of 5 years, which is subject to the approval of the shareholders.
