Wipro Ltd vice-president, Ankur Prakash has resigned from the information technology (IT) company marking the second senior management departure in the recent months. He was designated at Manufacturing strategic business unit and Latin America in the firm.
Wipro has appointed Anand Padmanabhan who is currently serving as president and global head of strategic sales and geographies, with the additional responsibility of overseeing the Latin American business. Milan Rao, Communications head and president has been asked to watch over manufacturing.
Prakash was earlier vice-president and chief operating officer for Latin America at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd and was one of eight executives from TCS to join Wipro, after Abidali Neemuchwala was appointed as Wipro’s CEO in April month of 2015.
Wipro has recently appointed Harmeet Chauhan as the head of its industry and engineering services (IES) division. In April, the company set up IES, which comprises the US$ 564 million product engineering services business.
Wipro’s manufacturing division clubs together the services offered to clients in the manufacturing space and posted revenues of US$ 701 million or 8.7% of its total income of US$ 8.06 billion, in 2017-18.
Wipro’s healthcare and life sciences head Jeffrey Heenan Jalil had also resigned from the company in the previous month.
